This project was created through collaboration with a client who wanted their family crest carved out of wood. The original design of the Irish family crest was handed down through the generations. Per request of the client, we lightly distressed the crest for a weathered look. As you can see in the images, we used three different types of woods. The helmet, shield and banner were made of birdseye maple. The ornate rosettes were made of cherry. The entire crest was placed on a piece of hard maple. Bronze hardware accented the corners of the piece.
The project was created in a painted version and a natural wood version (see photos)
